THRIFTING SPRING 2024: A GUIDE
In our last blog, we discussed pulling you wardrobe together with pieces already in your closet.
This blog talks about thrifting the pieces you love but do not have in you closet currently. The rule of thumb remains only on new pieces (5 new items every season) but does not apply to preloved clothes. Lucky for us, fashion repeats itself so finding these trends on thrift store shelves remains a matter of looking for them.
Capri pants
All of the naughts (00’s) these pants reigned supreme especially in Midwest and warmer states. This season sees these pant return to the runway. I personally know that my storage in Florida (been holding on to if for 8 years now..time to clear it) contains at least 12 of these pants.
If you can drive, I suggest the Hamptons and long Island thrift stores may be the best place to find these pants as well as online thrift stores. Thredup has a great collection of capri pants making thrifting spring 2024 that much easier.
Oxblood
The Pantone color of the year in 2015 and renamed Marsala after critics stated it resembled dried period stains, returns this Spring 2024. This color remained the darling of the fashion industry and hence remains the best current trend to thrift in our thrifting spring 2024 guide.
When thrifting this trend, look for more fall staples since that was when the color originally came out. Pleather skirts remain the most used separate for this color and accessories like bags and shoes.
This color needs no special instructions but make sure to look for wear and tire when shopping for shoes.
Lace Detail
Camis are great to thrift and the satin with lace detail was seen all over the runway this spring according to who what wear.
We love a cami paired with a pencil skirt or sheer one for a nightgown look in broad daylight. So risky. If you rather shop online Thrifted.com has a great variety of camis (219 styles)!
So clothes may be off the market but we have the best options to maximize your wardrobe with our accessories!
